Like Father Unlike Son
They say I look like you, I have your build
Your characteristics I am forever forced to yield
But that doesn't mean I have to be like you
I don't have to be an angry bastard too
You've never taught me anything except how not to act
Treating your family like shit, you've made such an impact
You hid it well always covered it up
My friends just thought I was making it up
But they never saw the side we had to see
The one that was never here and never wanted to be
A beer in your hand could always be found
We always got yelled at for the smallest of sounds
You loved the tv more than any of us
If we tried to interupt to talk to you there was always a fuss
I don't see how mom has stayed with you as long as its been
You treat her like garbage she must love you from way back when
You hated my presents and didn't mind to show it
Like that time on Fathers Day, you wouldn't even open it
You never say I love you, unless your not talking to me
Saying it to the other kids like you want me to see
I'm not sure what I did, and at this point don't care
What I said or didn't say to get such an empty stare
I always knew I was your least favorite one
But everyday I thank God that like father unlike son
