Work

I sneaked between my work times;
Attending to some calls,
While I tried to see what’s in the outside
Of this partly glass covered hall.
Down I saw some workin’ men
Striking with their hammer
Standing up and bending over
Driving nails unto the wall.
Out there in the open
They’re sweating in the sun
Doing work like everyone
Perhaps thinking of fortunes at sundown!

Hard work with flesh and blood
This labor thing, since known to man
Some sees it as a burden,
Others see as saving grace.
“It’s a blessing in ones life”
I remember my mom; she used to tell me,
“If you get something worthwhile
To look forward in every day.”
It’s a thing we pay each day
Though morning alarms sounds annoying
As they strike our sleepy heads
Loud against our sleeping bed!
(Still we creep toward the bathroom!
Making fresh our new beginnings!)

It doesn’t matter if you got to stand
Waiting at the table,
Perhaps just sitting behind a wheel,
Maybe even at a courtroom serving justice,
A valet or a surgeon!
There’s a treasure of being out there
Struggling for life, seeking something
For these, we learn to live
Pursue a dream and let it happen!
At day’s end, as we reap our share
The warm delight, the sweet reward
It’s even sweeter if we did it right!

Clever!

I re-read this several times because there's more to it than you initially realise-clairejane, this is a keeper! I love the zest you've put into this one, keep it up! :D ♥

Thanks Jewel

I was working alone in my post for sometimes so i came up with this piece... the men working down are coming up now almost reaching the height of our building! I appreciate these guys doing tight works on the heat helping shape the city.

"There’s a treasure of being out there
Struggling for life, seeking something..."

Did you write these two lines for me? :)

Because Ive been contemplating
of resigning from my job for a while now,
but, after reading this...
I decided to give it one more shot.
Thanks for posting!
Continue inspiring!
