HERE AND GONE

She stared up from the pictures glare
With eyes so sad so kind so clear
The smile once etched upon her face
Now forever gone from this time and place
The light she walked into the room
Was enough to chase away our gloom
But her pain she kept locked inside
Safely hidden from our sights
Striated blade left jagged red lines
At the wrists of skin more pure than mine
She took the life on loan to her
Not a care for the hurt we’d have to endure
The pain she caused I cannot erase
But memories of her I choose not to replace
Her eyes, they stare up from the pictures glare
Forever so sad so kind so clear

well written

I like how you start and end with the picture. You bring the reader into your thoughts and back to reality again. The emotions and imagery are effectively delivered.

Thanks

i'm glad you liked it Masked-Diva
