The Misty Rain

The misty rain rolls across the plain,
Blowing every so gently on my pain,
And quietly whispers, "Hello."
It's always calm, it's never annoyed,
Although its questions I try to avoid,
Like, "Where are you going to go?"

I believe it's God beckoning me,
He's been waiting so very patiently,
For me to finally come around.
I don't believe it's my imagination,
It's more of a spiritual sensation,
My heart is true and my mind is sound.

As the spirit of God soothes my soul,
It fills me up and makes me whole,
He kindly shows me the way ahead.
Not all at once, but step by step,
Light now shines where darkness crept,
By the grace of God I am led.

Through greener pastures He leads me,
With my love, and He sets us free,
The sun so warm and bright above.
Clouds give way to clear blue skies,
Tears of happiness fill our eyes,
As we bask in the Lord's good love.

Believing Where We Are Meant To Be

The words of your poem are soothing, just like a softly falling rain, and lure me into your spiritual journey through the mist. Growing up where we did in the sub-tropics of Australia, the rain and the emotions it evoked in me somehow felt different. I don`t believe I experienced a misty rain like the kind here in Japan, especially living here in the mountains where we live so close to the source of it.

As for our spiritual journey, although we cannot see now what lays ahead for us, I believe that we`ll be shown the way when the time is right and we`re ready for the next step. And just as the mist shrouds the distant scenery, in the distant future we may be able to look back upon it all and know that our faith in the Lord has lead us to where we were meant to be.

Hand in Hand

Thanks so much, darlin'. Your response was really beautiful and thoughtful, and I appreciate it very much. Like you, I was totally charmed by the seasons and scenery of this country upon my arrival here, and still am, from the cherry blossoms in spring to the autumn leaves and right through to the snowy winter wonderland. Breathtaking.

Whatever happens, and wherever we go, we'll go there hand in hand. For now, I believe that we are where we are meant to be, and that if we go elsewhere, we will be guided there by the Lord, as you so rightly said. A bit of faith goes a long way. Heh.

Love always,

In God We Trust

Chris and Mandy,

Satan has a very strong footing in our world today. Evil is rampant, not just in the streets, but it rears its ugly head in family life too.

Just as you have described the voice of God...there is a voice of evil to be reckoned with.

Our living is so multi-faceted and technology has lit up our resources and diminished our resources.

As we face each moment, I stand firm in my convictions for our God and know that you do too.

Some people think that teachers have all the answers...no they don't...but they are good at finding the answers.

If it is God we are seeking, it is God we will find...but where one seeks God, Satan loves to hide...I firmly believe this.

You are so fortunate to have the spiritual leadership in each other. You are both strong leaders and I look forward to your continued journey in Christ.

Stand confident in your spiritual armor...God is with you always.

This poem has the fragrance of Christ and the Spirit of God running through it.

God be with you dear friends,

Kathy

Christ be our light...shine in our hearts...shine through the darkness...

Let Light Shine

Dear Kathy,

It's funny isn't it? Those of us who believe in the existence of the devil in this world are accused of being naive, and yet many sources in the bible tell us that it is naive not to believe in the devil. I wonder if those same people think that Jesus Christ was naive or deluded when He spoke to the devil in the desert? In my poem, Forgotten is the Devil, and more so in the comments that follow, I point out the hypocrisy of blaming God for the evil in this world, when there is a devil that everyone conveniently forgets or ignores. To believe in God is to believe that there is a devil. You can't believe in one without the other. We can't have day without night, good without bad, and so on.

Technology is good and bad, too. It can be bad in that it encourages kids to stay inside and use their computer (to do e-mail, play games, etc), it can be a provider of pornography for adults, and it can be a thing that decreases social skills (face to face) in people in our societies. Alternatively, it can encourage kids to study, can be a provider of digitalized bibles, and can increase social interaction on-line between friends and families. I think technology can be good or bad depending on how it is used. On Facebook everyday I see feeds from Christian and Biblical sites which inspire me and encourage me, and 'positivity' feeds which motivate me. There are some beautiful images and posters out there.

Teachers (in various fields), in learning how to teach, discover how to search out the truth. There is an old Latin aphorism - Doscendo discimus - which means, we learn by teaching. (Seneca the Younger c. 4 BC – 65 AD). We can also get lost in academia, but as is stated in Matthew 7:7, "Seek and you shall find." I often recall 1 Peter 5:8, "Be vigilant and watch out. Your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour." I agree with you that a living faith in God is our best protection against the devil (of our soul, not necessarily our life). You have such a good soul, my friend, and you are a very sweet lady (not to mention being a wonderful and gifted poet).

Thanks ever so much for your kind comments on my poetry, and your constant words of encouragement. I am eternally grateful to you. God bless.

Mandy says hi and sends her hugs and warmest regards. Take care and best wishes,

Chris
