New Year's Eve (2012)
And so, my friends, another year has passed,
Over which I will not shed a tear,
For 2012 has been a blast,
And I wish you all a Happy New Year!
On this last day of 2012,
I look forward and back, caught in between,
But to be honest I do find myself,
Embracing year 2013.
There has been both happiness and pain,
But tonight is time for wine and song,
So c'mon let's dance, and pop the champagne,
2013 - bring it on!
I know that we live in different time zones,
But at midnight I'll be thinking of you,
The temple bells will sound their dulcet tones,
As we raise our glasses to hearts so true.
But let's not wear our hearts on our sleeve,
Let's put behind us whatever has been,
And enjoy this night, this New Year's Eve,
Happy New Year - 2013!

Happy New Year To You!
Dear Kathy,
Thank you so much for all your love, friendship and support over the years, but especially in 2012. Wishing you all the very best in 2013!
2013 is the year my novel will be published. I will finish the final re-editing as advised by my writing guru, and submit it to agents and publishers.
Thanks for waiting around to read it! Mandy will also help me finish my website so that I can publicize it on there. Can't wait! :-D
Mandy says hi and sends her hugs and warmest regards. All my love,
Chris xo

2013
Dear Paul,
The dulcet tones of the temple bells were sweet indeed, as Mandy and I raised our glasses of champagne to you and all our friends here on Poetry Showcase. Who could imagine that we would even be living in the year 2013? Especially after the numerous Christian 'Judgement Day' predictions from that old U.S. preacher, and of course the Mayan calendar coming to an end (further fueled by the Hollywood movie 2012)! But here we are, alive and well, and full of hope for another year. May 2013 be a wonderful year for you, and may all your dreams and wishes come true. Thank you for your kind feedback on my latest poem - much appreciated. Mandy says hi and sends her warmest regards.
Your good friend always,
Chris
