The Eagle
He grasps the clouds with crooked hands
Close to the sun in lonely lands
Crowned in blinding glare, he stands
Regal specter in the sky
Perched atop a throne so high
He scans below with keenest eye
Through the meadowlands, he seeks
He hears the grounds from mountain peaks
The highest roars and lowest squeaks
Any subtle change he senses
Through those ever-steady lenses
With unrivaled claws, he tenses
Tension building like a storm
Heart rates pacing past the norm
His prey can't make his shadowed form
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls
He rises from his granite walls
Then like a thunderbolt, HE FALLS!

THE EAGLE
Bryce..I have read all of the poems you have posted, they are very expressive and are heart and soul. This one I especially love as it deals with the forces of nature and this poem has told the story of a magnificent creature beautifully. I look forward to more of your poetry. Sincerely, Ezmerelda.
I really like this
It's great how you presented the images, I like watching them circle above then come down grasp a fish and then up again. raskin

what is it about eagles that is so mesmerising? I have tried to figure that out for a few years. I find myself writing about them and wonder why. I've looked up the folk lore without any resolution. It's strange. raskin
hello again Rask!
I dunno.. they are the most glamorous/regal birds in the whole entire skyworld,, i think all the eagles are impresive in stature but the golden and bald eagles are my favorite ones. their beauty is most certainly unmatched by any other that's for sure..and i love the cartoons where they sketch them with muscles and boxing gloves- just seems fitting for them^ _ ^thankyou times 2 Rask ~BRYCE
