Red October
Crimson leaves engulf the fields
Beneath the ruby sky
Enchanted in the autumn dream
Where all's been cloaked in dye
As fires glare with fervorance
In weather crisp as wine
I hear the wind's reverberance,
As bristles fall from pine
Giant pumpkins grow on farms
And grin from door to door,
With angry neighbors up in arms..
Sick of the ghoulish lore
Sweatshirts conjure from the depths
To beat the frigid chill,
Muffs and skullhats cover heads,
To insulate and seal
Postseason baseball doubles off
And frenzies from the box,
As usual i'm rooting for the championed bosox
October.. i'm in sight of you,
Within my funneled scope-
Kicking off another spree
Of holidays and hope

Nice fall
poem, your words bring in all the senses, crisp as wine brings in the flavor of the season to the palate, I can almost feel it in the back of my throat. Very good, the colors and movement throughout and I like how you wrap it up. raskin
