White Wood

I thought the world black
After glimpses into eternity
And balancing there, hanging just above dawn
I saw the purity of it all.

See how my eyes were widened
Into spectacles of passing fright
The snow white branches were sketches of pain
Silent temples opening to Heaven’s sky.

Spinning in recognized emotion
Dizzied under the skeletons
Finally whirling all of my thoughts to a close
As it all slows down to rest

Captured and flailing below fate
Settled down to rest on my knees
Looking up; beyond the near burning wood
And the trees were whispering death…

Beyond Your Heart's Desires, Mother's Fire

BritishKid16,

The heart it stops, the trees whisper death, and the rings of fire propel us into the open flames of Mother.
The soul is nurtured beyond breath, into the wellsprings of beating hearts in flight.
Nothing can contain the life that flows through the open heart of Mother.
Mother God is not a fabrication of our will, She is the illumination of all we lovingly nurture.
Mother is not a gender, it is the element that gives light to the world.
Peace is not the end, it is the beginning.
Time does not travel to find us, we always were and always will be.

It seems your heart found its purpose. It overflows. It is like the wave that keeps returning to the shore, Mother.

On this Feast of Love, I offer my heart to you, open, and connected.

You have enough fire to set the world on fire. Your poetry is of the Sun.

Happy Valentine's Day!

White Wood

Kathy,

The power of photography and music combined can produce some extensive inspiration. I really enjoyed writing this poem. I woke up thinking about it!

I remembered a snow white tree against a black and white background. The sky was black and the tree was a sharp contrast. It got my gears turning- as anything of that sort would for an artist.
I deeply thank you for your care and thoughtfulness towards all of my writing. You are as bright as the sun! It is wonderful to hear from someone, especially the warmth from a friend to give you feedback.

I appreciate you so much! Thank you for reading and enjoying.

Sincerely

Happy Valentines Day!!

Black and White Photography

BritishKid16,

I loved the "white wood" of this poem. White against black is classic. I am not a photographer but I know good photography when I see it. Most of the world are visual learners. I love photojournalism, the power to say so much with a picture.

This poem reminded me of the trees in Yorba Linda, California fires (my former home) that did not get touched by the fire that roared through them a few years ago. It was amazing to see the earth scorched and trees that survived the storm.

This poem (also) reminded me that fire can singe trees and leave traces of black beauty too. The trees that were blackened by the fire were absolutely gorgeous. I would pass them everyday and marvel at their abstract beauty.

I was delighted to learn that these trees (that appeared lifeless and dead) would continue to be homes for animals and, in fact, would become stronger and more beautiful in due time.

Trees that have had near death experiences are like people that have walked into the light and returned to paint the world white. "White wood" is the bride of all that is good, God. :o)

Thank you for letting me be a voice in your artistry, like the black trees, it helps me become stronger and more beautiful. :o)

May your heart art continue to bring white into black.

Your buddy,

Kathy
