Matches
Readily, unknowingly
I held the flint to your match
Blindness guiding the strike
That lit our explosive little blaze
How could something so hot
Burn out so fast?
I watched us roar to ashes
But flicker on the way
Forgetting fire's not forever
And everything smoldering burns
The alcohol can dull the pain
Disinfect my wound
But the burn sneaks back in the morning
Ablaze under the weight
of this useless stranger's arm
Your kiss flipped a switch inside me
That I didn't know I had
I guess when the match went out
It must have been too dark
For you to see that
You forgot to turn it off
You're a waste of time and electricity
And she's smart for pulling you away from me
Cause I'm sure I'd burn again for you
Even though this ones almost just a scar

and alcohol are not the best combination, not as safe as oil and water. Explosive write, very emotional!~Ron
