I Am Sorry

Elizabeth Lambert
April, 2009

I am sorry
that I was so wrong,
taking away all that you want.

I am sorry
that I put you in a box,
slammed the door, turned the lock

I am sorry
that I expected more than
you were willing to give,

I am sorry
about how I need more
than the words to feel.

I am sorry
that I ever played
this never-ending game.

I am so sorry
I didn’t realized that
you needed more.

I am sorry
that I let you see my hurt,
feel my pain, see my shame.

I am sorry
that I didn’t take off the bar,
give you your freedom, let you have it all.
.
I am sorry.
That I took away your world,
your happiness, your soul

I am sorry
that I can’t give you
all that you want.

I am sorry
that I feel so strong
when I shouldn’t feel at all.

I am sorry
That I can’t let got of the past,
forget all the wrong

I am sorry
that after all of this
it has to end this way.

I am sorry
that I just have to know
was there a chance for us to go on?

I am sorry.

~Love~

Love is never having to say you are sorry. Isn't that true?

You write beautifully.

Warm regards,

Kathy

You would think so

but I guess that is not always the case. Thank you Kathy for reading and commenting. It means a lot.

P.S. Ron hounded me until I started posting again so I guess I am back. Such a female, eh always changing my mind.

Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself.

yep ! I agree with Kathy,

yep ! I agree with Kathy, love takes all the mistakes away, forgets about them, and soon leave them to yesterday !
I loved your poem though. :)

Thank you Emma

I am glad you liked my write, not so sure that I was really saying I am sorry or just venting out. I wish that were true what you said, but sometimes it is not. Thank you for the comment and read.

I knew you'd be back

and so full of steam! (yeah, steam, right LMAO) So plastic but so realistic! Sympathy and being facetious all in one breath! ! (sorry honey but you can see right through this one) You amaze me, no wonder I can't get enough of you! Good write, the flow, the concept. "I'm sorry" is used too often in society and really should be saved for when it is truly needed~

Should have known

you would see through me. As it has been pointed out more than once, no I am not sorry, was def being facetious. Only thing I am sorry about is that I held it all in for so long. I got to admit that this one felt good to write. Talk about venting whew. Glad you liked it I feel proud of this one. Oops not suppose to admit that am I?

like glass

your smile and your words say so much, even though you try so hard to hide your heart. It's inevitable that one day your wall will crash and the real you will appear. (the butterfly escaping the cocoon) I can't wait! ~Ron
