This Cowboys Prayer

As I Listen to the gentle wind
And it rustled through the trees,
I watch a deer go runnin' by,
As pretty as you please.
I marvel at the eagle up high
And he rides on the winds.
I remove my hat and bow my head,
I began to speak a simple prayer.

“Sir, I don't know much about,
How this old world came to be.
I just know you seem to care,
For cowboys just like me.
So thank you, Sir, for givin'
Me a place to work and ride,
Where I can see your handiwork,
With you right by my side.
And thank you for that simple Book,
That tells us of your Son,
You must be really proud of Him,
And the work He has done.
I am really humbled,
About what your Book does say,
About how I can also be your son,
Yours has showed this ol' cowboy the way.
I know how much you love this place,
I really love it too,
So I'll do my best to care for it,
In everything I do.
Thanks is not enough,
To say how I truly feel.
But I know you can see my heart,
And know my words is real.
I gotta' go now, Sir, and finish my day.
Thanks again for all you've done
And givin' me my say!
In your Sons Holy name
I humbly end
This cowboys prayer!”
