Butterfly Kiss

A wink, a toothbrush,
freckles and tracksuit pants.

Leopard spots and a smile.
Absent earlobes, forever legs, never knees.

A spot of chocolate on your thigh,
lips that made me O so high.

Tornado hair and flour skin
always flourishing.

Arctic ice secreting a butterfly kiss.
Blazing suns of earthen stone.

Taunts of a mischief maker,
stubborn dream taker.

Howling wolves of want,
deaf ears of wanton ignorance.

A crescent moon of guilt,
a world of sorrow shadows.

A lone eyelash
on a finger’s tip
awaits the slightest breeze
in a breathless desert.
