I thought I killed my neighbor's cat
It was dark, I was drunk
When I came home, all alone
Then I heard, sound absurd
Six o’ clock, at my back
When I turned, something purred
Consistently, repeatedly
I was annoyed, so disturbed
I lost control, couldn’t avoid
With the wine, at my hand
Held it high, then brought it down
Smashed its head, I wickedly said
“Meow you cried, now you die!”
When purring ceased, I became at ease
So I came home, still all alone
At the sink, water turned pink
As the blood washed off my hands
Then to the bed, I dozed off
With the clothes, I didn’t took off
I woke up, morning top
My head’s in pain. What the hell happened?
To the windows, I looked out
Across the street, something’s going about
Black and white; Blue, Red light
Long yellow tape, across the whole place
Then I recalled, that last night
I have killed, my neighbor’s cat
I went outside, with an insight
That they found out, I killed their cat
Then on my knee, something touched me
It was that cat who meowed last night
Then I found out, a little girl is dead
Down on the road, was her body located
Thank God! Alive was the little girl’s cat
For I have thought I killed my neighbor’s cat!

~Twisted~
Art,
This is a tale of terror. The twist at the end was unexpected.
You have a lot of talent. Welcome to the Poetry Showcase. I am very happy to meet you.
I lived in the Philippines when I was in elementary school. My father was in the Air Force. The Phillipines are beautiful.
Warm regards,
Kathy Paysen

when i made this, i really didn't think of a deeper meaning.
Just plain murder.
But now that you've mentioned it, you got me thinking for it too.
