Come in From the Rain

Come in from the rain, love

You softly said to me

Your poor heart must be drenched

From resting on your sleeve

Come, let me wrap you warmly

And take away your chill

Let me kiss the droplets

That linger on you still

You need not feel ashamed

You need not say a word

The things you cannnot tell me

I have already heard

Your hair is soaking wet

You shiver from the cold

But I have been here waiting

I'm here for you to hold

So come in from the rain, love

These clouds will soon pass by

And when new stormclouds gather

We'll get wet side by side

~Raining in My Heart~

April,

Your poetry is soft and warm. I love this poem. Rain has always been a symbol of tears, love, anguish, loss... .
I could feel the chill and I could feel the warmth. Beautiful work. It was a pleasure to read your art.

It is wonderful to get to know you and your work.

Warm regards,

Kathy

Thank you

Kathy, you are too kind to me. The first four lines of this poem came to me in a moment, and I tried to find the words to convey the image it took in my head without sounding cliche. I don't often write love poems, but the rain is a medium a seem to be comfortable with. I am very appreciative that you took the time to read and comment.

Thank you kindly,
April
