The final page

I’ve been reading since half past eight
And now it is seriously late
But this is a fantastic book
I’ve been incredibly hooked
The tiredness I knew I’d dread
I should have gone to bed
But I have to get to the last chapter
As I’m caught up in the rapture
I try to read the final page
In a way that lasts an age
But I’m in a rush to comprehend
What happens in the end
My hearts beginning to sink
As I know I’m on the brink
I finish it and put it down
And sit here with that inevitable frown.

Andrew...Cute write!!!

Im not an avid reader but when i do find a book i love...i never want it to end... (kinda like the piece of chocolate...)

Naughty!

Thats naughty Linda, any excuse for another piece! great idea though, may console myself, with a bar or two, now that I've just finished my book.

Great poem Andrew

I know the feeling well Andrew I too am reading a good book I have a job to put down, mine is a trilogy so have two more books to read of it until I finish the story.
trouble is when you have finished that one it is a job to find one that comes up to it`s standards great poem I can relate to this one, from Willow

Thanks Willow

Thanks Willow, your right its great when your reading it but sad when it finishes, my latest book had a really sad end, so it was double sad, at least you will have two more to read.
Andrew

oh that it could never end!

Exactly the way I feel about many books. However, if they didn't end how would we ever get any sleep?

Very well done, Andrew. I enjoyed this a lot. I identify with you completely.

joyce

Very true

That is very true, many times I have been up to the early hours of the morning, trying to finish one, thanks for your comment Joyce, glad other people know what I mean.
