Freedom... by Amir Timur

Freedom…
By

From sun up ‘til sun down,
They plowed the fields…
Made their escapes underground.

Not able to read or pray;
But deep in their hearts…
God found a way.

Redemptions songs they sang,
While entrenched with a task…
To cultivate a field, suffering, pains.

By when the time came they were free…
A voice echoed in every deed,
Freedom to learn, write and read!

To have a chance to cultivate have a family…
The dying slowly came to an end;
Where a people began to live in harmony?

But today, the task is to once again be free,
From the violence of being killed, forcibly…
Because of drugs, lust, lies and hood controversies!

I appeal to all free people, please tell me why?
That we live in a time, that life is so short…
Being murdered by our own, this brings tears to my eyes…

Those that have suffered, black and white, it did not matter!
To be given freedom, now we have fallen in ways…
Living as though that human life is shattered!

I appeal in ways, that life today is not a shade of grey,
Education and technology is here, to lift us higher, with no fear.
Stop for a moment, this is not gang related, it’s a brand new day!

Free your mind, so your life will follow, we can have better…
Than those from day's of old, make this life great and decent-
Pay homage for those that wanted freedom, it does matter.

That every life you take, you reinforce those of old…
Living and crying to have a life much better,
Oh the young I appeal to you this way, do more, be bold!

You have your chance to be more than a dreamer!
Increase your acumen, I implore you this way…
Because there were many, to give you your freedom!
