Despair and hope

The dark angel of despair
Rises from its sleep
To cast a pitch black shadow
That drives us to the deep

But even in this night
When hope is all but gone
We need to find the strength
And the will to carry on

We must not give into its will
We can not listen to its song
For even the moonless night
Only lasts for so long

Dig deep into your soul
And find the light that fails to die
In there regain your strength
Grow your wings and learn to fly

Rise above the beast
And gain a better view
Because the future is still there
Just waiting in on you

Thanks

I like the rhythm and the sentiments. So many write about life's tribulations and it's nice to read about the power within to overcome. Thanks.

troubles

1st of all thank you for the comment. I'm going on a bad streak now but I figured out there is no point in lowering my arms, better times will come, one way or the other. Keep strong and it will in time pay off.

I am reminded...

of the last song in the Monty Python movie "Live of Brian", the song about "look on the bright side" It does sound overused and cheesy but... "if I can't change what is going on, perhaps I can do something or focus on something that brings me joy". I think this works for most things except chronic pain. Pain is so invasive, it's hard to ignore. Sometimes, however, the little cerebral circuits need to run their course allowing time to do it's thing. Good Luck.
