Maple leaves

Maple trees are scions of ancient keys.
Its fruit has evolved into varied breeds.
I guess if I’d judge from all of god’s trees
I’d deem maple for their beautiful leaves.
The leaves are defined by this poet’s soul
Described in words with imaginative rhyme.
Inherit beauty is seen when I stroll
Down a woodland path in the summertime.
For all this loveliness god has bequeathed
A greater beauty at present unseen:
In autumns prime when the leaves fall beneath
Their loftiest homes those once were so green.
October blows in and leaves fall to ground
Red, brown and green ones all whirling around.
